Yoga For The Heart

The spiritual heart chakra is one of the most powerful energy centre that can be found here on the physical earth plane. This fourth chakra is what bridges the higher energy centres and the lower centres together. The heart centre connects the body to spirit. When the heart centre is open, it allows us the opportunity to move beyond the lower three chakras and out of the ego and into a frequency of unconditional love and divine expression.

‘In much of Indian mythology, the ocean is thought to be the source of all life. In the body, the ocean of the heart (Samudra) is the very source of consciousness and in turn is the origin of the entire phenomenal world. The metaphor of the ocean of the heart suggests an all-inclusive totality, incorporating everything from the outermost galaxy down to the finest grain of sand. In this sense the ocean of the heart is boundless and immeasurable. The heart is identified with absolute consciousness-inexhaustible, all encompassing, and beyond calculation.’ - Tias Little When this incredible energy centre; our spiritual heart is blocked or closed down, you may begin to experience the following emotionally: Anger, confusion, unforgiving, hateful, jealous, selfish, uncaring, unfeeling, needy, abuse of alcohol/drugs or abuse of love. These may manifest physically as heart problems, circulation issues, asthma, depression, bronchitis or any other symptoms with the breathing. The heart is unified to the breath, but that is a whole fantastic different blog topic that I will write about very soon. Due to certain circumstances, the heart centre can become blocked, and in this blog, I wanted to share five ways in which we may work towards the opening and balancing of the heart energy centre. 1. Yoga for the heart is a perfect start as it allows the Prana, life force to move more freely around the body, bring balance and to release blockages. In my new LIVE weekly stream, I shared a Heart Opening Yoga session and Meditation that is targeted towards opening the heart if we may be feeling depleted or closed off in this sacred space.




2. To encourage the heart space to open repeating heart chakra affirmations that can help loving-kindness towards ourselves is very useful and powerful. Many years ago, i was introduced to Louise Hay's work, and she has left an abundance of knowledge on affirmations. I have attached the link to one of the books I have and highly recommend if you trust in metaphysical meanings of physical illness.


Here are a few of Louise. Hay's chosen affirmations for the heart from her book 'You Can Heal Your life.'


'My heart beats to the rhythm of love'.


'I bring joy back to the centre of my heart. I express love to all.'


'Joy joy joy. I lovingly allow joy to flow through my mind and body and experience.




3. Using aromatherapy oils that are associated with Anahata Chakra


Trying oils may be helpful when opening up the heart centre.

Bergamot, melissa, geranium and clary sage can all open and activate the heart chakra.


Caution - Please be careful when using oils and make sure they are suitable to use, bergamot should not be used if you are pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it should never be used before going out into the sun.

When using oils you could always create a mixture possibly a base oil which may be almond and then add your Heart Chakra oils.



4. We can always use gemstones to help open up the heart centre. Gemstones recommended for Anahata Chakra are Rose quartz, jade, emerald, green aventurine, kunsite and watermelon tourmaline. When it comes to stones, you can be very intuitive and select the one you may be drawn too. When you have chosen your gemstone, you can place it on your heart at any time may be during relaxation.




5. My final suggestion to open the heart centre would be to listen to beautiful, uplifting music. Frequencies have a powerful effect on our cellular body, so music can have a stunning impact on the heart, allowing it to open and clear any blockages. 639HZ is the frequency of love. I hope that this blog is helpful and it can help us reside in compassionate, unconditional love, sharing empathy and generous radiating warmth towards each other on this earth plane right now and forever.
