My Skin Journey
If you have been following me on YouTube, you know that I have been into face yoga for many years. I have also trained with Danielle Collins Face Yoga and obtained the Face Yoga Method Teacher Certification. I have always been interested in subjects related to health, natural healing and natural beauty. Face yoga has given me a fun, new way of fighting the effects of ageing.
I want to maintain the health of my skin as best as I can with natural methods. Although I have no plans to invest in Botox treatments or any other fillers, I am always keen on trying natural methods that slow down the effects of ageing. With face yoga, I found a perfect and natural method for tackling the effects of ageing.
Everyone wants to maintain their youthful looks and there is a lot of social pressure on us to hide the signs of ageing. That said, ageing is a natural process and we should not only embrace it, but nurture it as well. By doing face yoga, I am able to look after my skin, reduce stress levels, stay more relaxed and improve my overall wellbeing. That’s why I want to share this amazing technique with you.
What Exactly is Face Yoga?
Face Yoga is a natural way to help us feel and look younger and healthier through a combination of facial exercises, facial massage, face acupressure and face relaxation.
There are 57 muscles in the neck and face, but they are a lot smaller than the muscles in other parts of our body. So, it doesn’t require much work to keep them in good shape. As we work the muscles beneath our skin, the health of our face improves and gives us a more youthful appearance.
How Does Face Yoga Work?
Face Yoga stimulates collagen and improves the condition of our skin. It speeds up the elimination of toxins that cause puffiness and allow our lymphatic system to drain better. This gives us a much younger and radiant appearance.
By combining face yoga and a good skin care routine, we can get huge improvements to skin health. Konjac Sponge is natural and is one of my favourite skincare products for exfoliation. I use it once a week. What’s your favourite exfoliation product? Let me know in the comments.
With face yoga exercises, facial muscles become strong, lifted and firm. This lifts the skin attached to those muscles making them taut and reducing wrinkles. When we add massage, acupressure and relaxation methods to the technique, it improves circulation, lymphatic flow and speeds up the removal of toxins. This reduces puffiness, improves skin tone, softens dark circles and releases tension resulting in beautiful, healthy and glowing skin.
Will Practising Face Yoga Give Me Wrinkles?
Not at all. If done correctly, all the techniques that I am showing you in my face yoga classes work the face and neck in a controlled way. When you go to a fitness class or the gym and work your body, you improve body flexibility, muscle strength and skin texture. The same principle applies to the face. When we do face yoga exercises, we work on muscle resistance, firm the facial muscles and create a lift to produce a more youthful look. So, as you exercise your face, you are building muscle fibre, which helps reduce wrinkles.
Why Does our Skin Change with Age?
There are many factors that change our skin as we get older. Weakening facial muscles, poor lymphatic flow, stress, poor nutrition, insufficient sleep and too much sun are some of the common factors that speed up skin ageing. By being aware of these factors, supporting our skin by facial fitness and making lifestyle improvements, we can help slow down the effects of ageing.

How Soon Will Face Yoga Start Working?
You may notice changes after the very first session like less puffiness and a glow. Long-term improvements start to become visible after about two weeks and from there, it just gets better and better. To obtain good results, you have to do face yoga consistently. It should become part of your daily routine.
